Why do my edited photos look washed out or flat?

Washed-out or flat results are almost always a bracket exposure issue. The AI needs sufficient dynamic range across your brackets to produce a rich HDR-style output — if your brackets don't span enough range, the result loses contrast and color.

Check your brackets

Your darkest bracket should be dark enough to clearly see out of windows (no blown-out highlights), and your brightest bracket should be bright enough that interior shadows have visible detail (no pitch-black corners). A standard 3-bracket set at ±2 EV covers most rooms.

Quick fix for the current shoot

Use AI Re-Edit on the affected photos with a prompt like "increase contrast and color saturation, make the image look rich and HDR, not flat or washed out."

Profile choice matters

Lisa produces more punch and deeper window pulls than Classic. If you're on Classic and finding results flat, try switching to Lisa in autohdr.com/account → Style Settings and re-uploading.
